Program
Franz Kafka, the 100th anniversary of whose death falls this year, is by no means just an author for adult readers. Children also understand the grotesque, exaggeration and irony, perhaps even more than we would think. That's why, as part of the Night with Kafka, we are preparing an adventurous night full of transformations for children aged 9 and over – a literary and creative workshop with an overnight stay in the city library.
During the evening, the children will experience a staged reading from Kafka's The Metamorphosis, a mini-workshop on creative writing led by experienced editor Dora Kapralová, an animation of the metamorphosis led by filmmaker Natasha von Kopp and the making of musical dreamcatchers with violinist and teacher Eva Jamníková. There will be no shortage of surprises, but hopefully shortage of boredom.
Get ready for an evening where you'll fall asleep to the most absurd stories, a collective storytelling session and a morning where you'll wonder about the state of the world and the power of friendship. Pack your sleeping bags and mattresses, sleeping gear and a snack for breakfast. Dinner will be provided.
The event is free for children, reservations are required.
