Program
The pulse of the big city and late-night dance halls, fears and absurd humour: with the new concert programme „The Process“, the Kafka Band from Prague completes a trilogy of concept albums inspired by Franz Kafka's work.
The Kafka Band project was created in 2013 in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Stuttgart. In addition to the two frontmen Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99, the Kafka Band consists of the musicians Tomáš Neuwerth (drums), Lukáš Morávek (trumpet, guitar, vocals), Zdeněk Jurčík (keyboards), Petr Weiser (bass) and the musician and producer Dušan Neuwerth (guitar). They all play in Czech bands such as Tata Bojs, Letni kapela, Priessnitz, Umakart and Kittchen, which enjoy cult status in the Czech Republic.
David Z. Mairowitz has been announced as the evening's special guest. He is known to insiders from his collaboration with Comix-creator David Crumb. Mairowitz is one of the most respected radio producers of our time. Born in New York, he has been working as an author and director throughout Europe since the 1960s. The newly published comic „Kafka“ by Mairowitz/Crumb from 1993 can justifiably be described as legendary.
The evening will start with a short introduction by Dr. Reiner Stach and will probably end with all of us as new fans of the band, who are playing in Cottbus for the first and only time, at the Gladhouse Bar.
