KAFKA BAND: THE TRIAL

Concert on Kafka's novel fragment about powerlessness

The artistic minds behind the Kafka Band, in which some of the most renowned Czech musicians are involved, are the writer Jaroslav Rudiš and the comic artist, illustrator and musician Jaromír 99. Together, the two have also produced the successfully filmed graphic novel „Alois Nebel“. For 10 years, they have been inspired by Franz Kafka's work as part of their band project, searching for motifs, composing songs and bringing them to the stage to great effect. After the albums „Das Schloss“ (2014) and „Amerika“ (2019), „Der Process“ now follows.

The performances of the seven professional musicians were like a surreal journey through Kafka's world, in which music and words merged together and created a brute but captivating soundscape in their musical adaptation of Kafka's texts. The (...) audience (...) not only thanked them, but also celebrated the virtuoso performance with a standing ovation. (Neue Westfälische)

The Kafka Band project was created in 2013 in cooperation with the Literaturhaus Stuttgart. As with the previous albums, the current program "Der Process" is realized with the Literaturhaus Stuttgart and supported by the Konrad-Kohlhammer-Stiftung.

The concert is part of EINHUNDERT KAFKA, a project by Schaubühne Lindenfels to mark the 100th anniversary of Franz Kafka's death.

Tickets here online, at the Schaubühne and at all Reservix box offices: 15/9 €
