Program
Franz Kafka had a problematic relationship with Vienna. Of his few visits, the one in September 1913 is best documented, when he took part in the ‘II International Congress for Rescue and Accident Prevention’ as an insurance official. At the same time, the ‘XI. Zionist Congress’ took place at the Musikverein at the same time, and Kafka attended the lectures. The tour in Kafka's footsteps from 1913 leads through Vienna's city centre, stopping at the former Hotel Matschakerhof in Seilergasse, where Kafka spent the night, the vegetarian restaurant Thalysia in Oppolzergasse and Café Central in Herrengasse.
