Reiner Stach 's three-volume biography of Kafka is now regarded internationally as the standard biography and has been translated into a total of eleven languages. However, it was a long journey of almost two decades from the initial conception to completion. In conversation with Merano high school students, Reiner Stach talks about complicated research, spectacular encounters, mountains of reading, new insights into a completely different Franz Kafka, happy moments of success, but also unexpected disappointments with „his“ Kafka.
