Program
Someone must have slandered Josef K., because he was arrested one morning without having done anything wrong.
The entanglements in the ghostly bureaucracy, the inscrutability of this world, which makes it impossible for Josef K. to find his bearings, do not allow for simple explanations and invite ever new questions and interpretations. Kafka biographer Reiner Stach („There is probably no one in the world who knows more about Kafka than Reiner Stach.“ // Die Zeit) has written a commentary on Kafka's most famous novel (Wallstein Verlag). He will introduce the evening and lead the book discussion with the audience. Anyone who re-reads „The Trial“ (and brings their copy of the book with them on the evening) is cordially invited to join in the discussion.
FROM CA. 9 PM WE WILL BE SHOWING THE FILM „THE TRIAL“ BY ORSON WELLES FROM 1962 IN THE HALL (3RD FLOOR).
Admission: 15 € / 10 € (free admission to the movie)
Organizers: Adalbert Stifter Verein // Stiftung Literaturhaus // Tschechisches Zentrum München // The Kafka2024 project is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, the German-Czech Future Fund, the Cultural Department of the City of Munich and the Bavarian State Chancellery
