Program
June this year marks exactly 100 years since the death of Franz Kafka. The writer spent his last days in a small sanatorium in Kierling near Klosterneuburg, accompanied and cared for by his partner Dora Diamant. Characterised by his fatal illness, laryngeal tuberculosis, Kafka hovered between highs and lows: from letters he talks about everyday observations, his literary projects, friendship and loneliness, hope and despair.
Dr Manfred Müller, Managing Director of the Austrian Society for Literature and President of the Austrian Franz Kafka Society, will provide a private insight into this period of Franz Kafka's life, which is still less prominent today.
The lecture is organised with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum Prague and will be translated into Czech.
