Program
An interdisciplinary panel discussion of academics from all faculties of Charles University focused on Franz Kafka in the context of one of the defining characteristics of multicultural Prague at the time – multilingualism.
In addition to the question of the language of his texts (i.e. German and Czech), the language problem in Kafka's work also includes the relationship to the continuum of German dialects in the Prague area, i.e. Yiddish or Hebrew. The lectures will also deal with the problem of translating Kafka's texts into different languages.
Organized by: Library of Languages
The event is part of Kafkus Hybernská 2024.
